YELLOWSTONE!

Mike, Sophie and I headed out on a road trip to Yellowstone over the UEA break.  We had a great time- we drove through a herd of Bison, saw Elk all along the road and just loved the beautiful fall....

Led by our fearless friends with whom we have shared many "near death" experiences, we defy the signs that warn against rim to rim in one day (too much death) and head out.  The day starts with a huge storm, snow and 100% chance of precipitation - but we laugh in the face of danger and take off at sunrise!

Phantom Ranch- our only stop in 24 miles!!! We love our good friends: Swensons, Tingey's and Mendenhalls- but I think they tried to kill us!!!

One thing you can say about Soph is that she has a zillion friends.  She's funny and crazy and when she's around there's nothing but fun!

James Art Show in Harrison Fine Arts

James displayed some of his amazing art for a personal showing that will last 3 weeks in the Harrison Fine Arts building on BYU campus.  He showed the full range of skills used in the animation process.  He had fine art (paintings of delicate arch at 4 different times of day) incredible pencil full body portraiture of three people, successive real life drawings of an athlete jumping, personal expressions studies, taking his drawings of a monkey from the zoo, combining it will his drawings of monks and making an animated character that should be in Kung Foo Panda, story boards,  a 3D sculpture of a character so that it can be rendered on the computer for animation...and finally he animated a drawing of his sister Katie from a pencil sketch.... We don't know where he gets it, but we know he's GOT it!  We couldn't be prouder of his amazing talent and strong work ethic.  Way to go James!!!
