Haven starts pre-school!!

Road Trip To Atlanta!!

 James was accepted to graduate school in animation in Atlanta!  The only trick was getting out there!  Mike decided to make it an adventure and the boys headed out together across the country seeing some great church history sites along the way.  They visited Chimney Rock,  North Platte River, Winter Quarters, Council Bluffs and Liberty Jail.  Ironic that so many died along this route, and now we can whisk by in a few days, and visit four temples along the way...

One of Mike's relatives was a 75 pound 75 year old little woman.  She is called "Wee Granny" because she was so small.  As the story goes, she lay dying at Chimney Rock and said "Tell John I died facing Zion"...

Ok....super wierd.  The weekend before school started, Sophie was in her predictable "Bourne to Run" family relay shirt (we have 10 of them and she literally has worn one every day since the race- LAST summer.....  Her hair was in her face (no barretts, no braids, "ick! don't touch my hair") her soccer shorts rotating every other day, and her favorite shoes from Target... Our neighbor saw her in a different shirt once and sent her home because she said "I don't know who you are!"
Apparently, the Sunday night before 7th grade, she was whacked by the "style" fairy...She woke up the first morning of seventh grade with a shower, a team of hair and make-up people (sister and sister in law...) and left in a cute outfit that had nothing to do with soccer or a family race!....
Junior High has seen her in stylish outfits every day and a slight obsession with laying it all out and being sure to match the ensemble with a puffy headband....(Pigs are flying- and hell has officially frozen over...)
 She is breathless with the excitement of it all and has made a million friends... Such a hilarious, fun, complicated, exuberant wonderful little soul.  We love you Soph!!!!

Happy Haven...

Haven and Ashley came out to SLC for a couple weeks while Mike pushed through one of the hardest and most time consuming rotations in his Med School training.  Haven, as usual, stole our hearts with her "adorableness".  We spent beautiful end -of- summer days swimming, playing in the park, throwing parties, football games and family gatherings.  We are ecstatic to learn that Ashley and Michael are having another baby this winter!!!! We feel so blessed, and our house seems way too quiet with them back in New York....

We spent a morning at "Jungle Jim's" where  Haven threw caution to the wind and the true "thrill seeker"came forth! 4 months pregnant- Ashley was a great sport!!!
